Carrie,
I'm new to this and am a little scared about the whole process. I'm on day 7 with an e-solutions deal and none of my offers have approved!!! Is this normal? I'm so worried I did something wrong. Thanks for your help.

Melissa,

These sites have an either 10 day or 21 day cycle right now.

So, on the night between 10/11 ( wake up on da 11 ) some or all of the offers should have been approved or on night between 21/22 they should be.

I wouldn't start worrying until you reach those points.

Sometimes, some people see a few offers approve before then, but not always.

Do not do replacements, as you haven't gone thru the whole cycle yet.

Anonymous said...

Hi Carrie!!

I'm SO excited all my offers approved today :) THanks for all your help and endless emails!

Also, just to let you know my silver approved in 24 hours. The gold took 4 days. However, my platinum didn't approve until day 12. So maybe they're a little behind. Oh and I didn't have to do any replacements!!!!

Thanks so much again,
Ashley

Carrie,

Thanks again for this great site! I completed a rewardsadvantage gift offer in January and I am now working on 3 other offers! Rewardsadvatage received my documents on Jan.17th so I am anxiously awaiting an update to my account, are they good about emailing back when you write to them about your status? By the end of these offers I'll have $2000--amazing!

THANK YOU for all you do!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

They are usually great about writing back. Can take as long as 2 days.

Make sure your site is updated by a week before your 60 day mark, or resend your paperwork. Better to be safe than sorry.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Chateau

Did your replacements go thru? How many days do you have left before your 60 days?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Cent with Love,

Did everything work out with the charges comeing thru?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Amtsales,

I would go ahead and do a replacement.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Misty,

Did you ever get the survey worked out?

It couldn't have taken you directly to the silver page, otherwise, how did you sign up with your name email address to get back in and check your account?

I think what sometimes happes is a seperate pop up comes up that goes directl to the silver.

If you haven' gotten it worked out, email customer service.

Jennifer said...

Carrie - yes, they did! I wrote this comment a while back... it was sort of odd how it happened, but it happened!

"Well, I have an update! I had done some research online and read that if an entire category doesn't approve, usually the replacements don't get approved in a day or 2, but that they "start over" with the 7/11/20 day cycle thing. That concerned me, but gave me a little bit of hope that they might credit around day 23 or so (if I got "lucky" and didn't get the longest cycle), and that I'd still make it.

Then, with no rhyme or reason, they both credited today! I don't get it, but I won't complain. I'm off to mail in my certificate today!"

That was on January 17th. The same day, I sent my certificate, etc to them. It should have arrived 2 weeks ago from today. I say "should have", because I paid for delivery confirmation and then promptly lost the number. Fabulous. :) I resent the info a couple of days later, and the two weeks from THAT date is coming up this weekend. I keep checking to see for a status update, but will email them if it hasn't changed by Monday (over 2 weeks since the one I have "proof" they received, and about 3 weeks from the first I sent).

Today is Day 34. (I started Jan 1)

I'll keep you posted!

Hi,
Thanks so much for the step by step directions. I would never have had the confidence to attempt to do one of these on my own! Just wondered, has anyone done the bonus offer to receive an extra $25 visa gift card? Did you actually receive the bonus gift card as well?
Thanks,
Amy

Jennifer said...

Carrie - at what point, given my previous updates, would you email them regarding my status? It's been over 3 weeks since I presume they got my first certificate, and almost 2 weeks since I can prove they got my second. If I want until 30 days after they receive my second, I'll be on day 50-something, and I don't trust them to get back with me in time!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hi,

My rule of thumb is to always write them about 2 weeks after the USPS shows they got it and just send my DC # too asking if my status will be updated soon.

They usually respond back that it can take up to 30 days, but it then credits about a week later.

If you get to day 50 with no change...mail again just to make sure you have your bases covered.

Unfortunately, without your DC for the first time, you really have proof of that one.

I would expect it should credit any day now.

HI Carrie & Melissa (1st comment on this page). I also did an e-solutions media offer and none of my offers have approved yet, and I am on day 8. Melissa, did your offers approved, and if so, what day(s)? I am wondering what kind of a cycle e-solutions media is on. Top Notch was faster so I think we are a bit worried...=).

Thanks so much!
Jenny

Jenny,

Wait until day 12. That is when Ideal has been crediting.

HELP! I am doing the $500 Visa Gift Card offer, and all 8 of my offers are approved right now. I clicked where it says to redeem your gift and I filled out all the information and then it says "No redemption information found." Another girl (sarah) had this same problem and you told her to go back and fill it out. I can't find out how to do this. Since all the group requirements are complete, there isn't a place where it says "go here to complete more offers" anymore. Please tell me that there is something I can do to fix this. I'm freakin out right now!

Rachel said...

Never mind about the "No redemption information found." I emailed customer service and they told me to go back to the original offer page and enter my email as if I was signing up for the first time, and then fill out the contact information. I would not lose any of my approved offers.

This worked! I filled it out and then waited a few minutes and then tried to print my certificate again and it worked! I'll be sending it today.

Jennifer said...

Ok, new question that I haven't seen anywhere! The place below the offers we've completed... the one that usually says "Congratulations...." and contains a link to your redemption info? Then it eventually turns into "You have been accepted..." when they get ready to mail your cards...? It's gone! I check on my status and it shows my approved offer sets, and below is the terms and conditions as per usual. There is NO status information, though! Have I just logged in at just the afternoon they're changing it over? (I hope!) I admit it has me a little concerned!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

If they all still show approved and you mailed it all in, it went approved ( meaning they showed the date they got it ) and now that phrase is gone....I would simply email them and ask why it is gone.

Let us know what they say.

Jennifer said...

No, I knew that didn't come out right as I was rambling! :)

Previously, it showed that my individual offers had approved (ie "Group Requirements Complete"). Below that, until now, it said "Congratulations! You have completed the requirements, etc"... (you know, where it says to click for redemption instructions, the link that then takes you to the certificate, I-9, etc).

Today, the "You have completed..." screen is gone, but it was not replaced with a "You were approved by the sponsor on _____" message.

Does that make sense? I'm hoping it will change over by tomorrow, or I will email them.

I'll keep you posted, I just wondered if you had ever seen this.

Hi Carrie,

Thank you so much for all this great information. I found an i-Deal offer on your site that I'm thinking of trying, and it's for a free MacBook Air! Do you have any experience trying out offers for merchandise instead of money/gift cards? I am wondering if I will need to pay taxes on the computer if everything works out (I'm assuming it's worth more than $500-600), and if so, how I can calculate how much the taxes will be. Thanks again!

Rachel said...

Carrie,

I did the $500 gas card offer at the end of last year, it was my first offer. They asked me to fill out a w-9 when I mailed in my redemption information. So far this year, I have not gotten a W-2 statement from them. Is it safe to assume they aren't going to send one? I think the terms and conditions said over $600 but I can't remember for sure right now, and I'm at work so I can't look it up.

THanks!

Jennifer said...

Well, I must have just stumbled upon what happens right before they approve your offer, because now it's showing approved! This go around was certainly a learning experience, between this and the weird timeline in which my offers were approved.

Thought I'd let you know!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

You are right. By law, it is $600. But, not sure if they will send one or not for $500.

You may send them an email quickly to see if you should expect one or not, so you know whether to get started on your taxes or not.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Sarah,

You do have to pay taxes on gifts won thru these sites.

For the computer, they will send a 1099-MISC at the end of the year with it's value. You will put that into your taxes.

The amount you will pay depends on how your file your taxes, your tax bracket, etc. So, I can't really tell you that, but you should be able to get a ball park figure from your taxes.

I have just signed up yesterday for the 42 inch Samsung tv. I need to do 3/3/9. I did the nine platnum last night and 7 are already showing approved. My question is that today I noticed that it says that I can only cancel 2 offers within 60 days. If seven of my offers have been approved already, how do they know if I cancel and how do they know if I cancelled only two?
Have you ever done an offer where you could cancel the offers like this or am I reading this wrong?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Renea

I think you are under the wrong section.

Sounds like you did a Nuitech site, not an IDeal.

Where did you find the advertisement for the TV? I don't see it on my webpage?

But, anyway, sounds like Nuitech, so go to the bottom of the page and click on the Nuitech instructions. After you read those, if you still have questions, then feel free to leave your questions at that time under the Nuitech Question section.

Thanks so much

Anonymous said...

Carrie - just saw that you asked me a question.

Yes, all of my offers did go through and my credit cards is fine. I guess they flagged it for a bit since I was doing so much charging online. The same thing happened during my second deal. This credit card let me use just 5 virtual numbers, and then it wouldn't let me use any more. So, I just switched to a new card for the rest.

I mailed in my first certificate about 3 weeks ago, and I mailed in my certificate for a second offer a couple days ago. Now, I'm just waiting for FedEx to ring my doorbell and ask for a signature.

Thanks again!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Shawna,

Even though you mailed in your certificates...makes sure the site gets updated that they received them and the date.

If not, you want to contact them with the del conf #. If it gets to be about a week before your 60 day expiration date, you will want to resend your documentation.

Also, even after it updates, you will want to check back frequently.

We just had a readers status change to On Hold and they have to send a written letter to the legal department because they said they duplicated offers!

Everyone needs to be VERY careful if they do 2 sites in 6 months that they don't duplicate offers OR offers from the same parent company. It is often hard to tell which companies are owned by the same company.

This is why it is often nice to do an IDeal site, a Nuitech site and a Netblue so you don't run into these problems.

Anonymous said...

Could you please give me the website for the I-deal, netblue and also the others? I tried to read your comment but I still could not find the website when I google it.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Evelyn,

Are you asking for sites to do?

All the IDeal websites I have listed in the left side bar. Click on any of the images and it will take you to a page.

I currently do not have any Netblue offers..but one they are available again, I will put them back up.

And, Nuitech are in the right side bar.

Anonymous said...

Hey carrie! I sent you an email but not sure if you got it. I received my $500 JcPenney Gift Card! 4 month's later but I have it! I've decided to give online offers another shot. I'm going for the gas card. Hopefully all will go well this time.

Jennifer said...

Oh my gosh!! I'm going on vacation next week and worried that my Fed Ex delivery might happen while I'm gone. It would only be weeks 5-6 (out of 6-8), so I wasn't really concerned, but it had crossed my mind.

Instead, it came today!! I finally got fully approved by the sponsor on February 9th, so it only took 2 weeks and 2 days to get my gift cards! I'm in shock!!

Also, to make matters better, it IS a Visa card as I had initially requested. The sign-up link says you are going for a Visa Gift Card, but the redemption certificate specifies that you'll be getting a Best Buy or Circuit City gift card (which would be useless). I was annoyed but not going to complain, considering I am buying a computer which I could get just fine at Best Buy, but this is even better!

Thank you again... I'll post a picture as soon as I can!

Anonymous said...

Hi Carrie!
I tried this question the other day and never saw it post. Not sure what happened. OK...on the IDEAL offers it says in the terms and conditions you can get only $1000 from them in a 6 month period. Is this for each seperate "sub company"(for ex: I've done 2 topnotch deals, gas card in December and waiting on delivery of my Sears card) I know that I can't do anymore topnotch deals for awhile. Can I still do an IDEAL 123 Click, esolutionsmedia or BullsEye? I LOVE the IDeal sites...like you said they are fast and I know feel confident that I know what I'm doing(thanks to you!!!)
Mandy

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Great question!!

You can do $1,000 on the other sites now, too, but you MUST be careful. You still can't duplicate offers from the same parent company.

I just heard from a girl this week who called me and the DQ'd her for doing this.

Since all these sites have the same offers, it will get more and more difficult to not get DQ'd.

In all honesty, my rule of thumb is to only do 2 every 6 months.

The problem is, if you get DQ'd, they could NEVER allow you to do another site...and we don't want that.

Of course, it is up to you, but in all honesty, take some of that extra money and do a Nuitech now.

A girl just got her $1,000 this week! It may take a few months longer, but it is still free money.

And, if you pick your offers wisely, even the 60 day timeframe to remain with each offer is doable and not overly expensive.

They don't have the stipulations of duplicating parent company offers ( or they didn't...read the terms ) and will give manual credit.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Carrie for your quick response....I think I'll take your advice and try a Nuitech....I was a little worried about finding enough offers to do without messing up. I'll let you know how may Nuitech goes...I'll probably end up asking a question since it's the 1st time!
Thanks again!
Mandy

Hi Carrie,

I am looking for some advice...have you ever seen this message before?

Thank you for your interest in e-ResearchCouncil.com! In order to be eligible to receive a free gift, you must complete all the requirements outlined above. See our terms and conditions for complete details. Please allow 6 weeks for the qualification of offers.

All of my offers are still pending even though they were completed on the 19th.

At this point I guess I'll wait my 30 days to contact them, unless something changes.

Teri

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Teri,

Do you think perhaps you have your deals mixed up?

If you did an IDeal site, they shouldn't be approved yet. And, 30 days? They don't manually approve, so there would be no need to contact them.

I think perhaps you read the instructions for Nuitech or one of the other companies.

Or, are you doing a Nuitech site?

If you are doing IDeal, then please make sure to read those instructions so everything will make more sense.

Feel free to email me if you don't get it straightened out.

Jenny said...

Carrie,

I tried to post a few days ago, but for some reason it never showed up....I must have done something wrong. I finally decided (months after reading your blog for the first time) to try one of these offers, but I have a few questions.

1. I know it's a little unclear when you can cancel for an I-Deal site, but if they are showing as approved, would it be safe to cancel?

2. I was looking at my offers, one of them was for Pomegranate Clear and the other for Slim Fit Diet...seemed like to different things...two different sites...no indication they were the same, but when I clicked on customer service, it was the same address! So I'm assuming that means they're the same parent company? Both of these offers are already approved. What do I do?

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm so nervous about doing this!

Jenny

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Jenny,

In regards to cancelling offers, I unfortunately cannot discuss or make any recommendations in regards to this topic.

I just usually tell people to try products they think they may like and give them an honest try.

There is really no clear cut answer to your question.

In regards to the duplicate offer, there is every chance they might DQ you. There really is nothing you can do at this point, but keep your fingers crossed.

But, they are cracking down on it, because I have heard from a few others who did this same things and got DQ'd this past month after they sent their forms in already.

Everyone reading..you MUST, MUST reseach each offer to make sure the parent companies aren't related before you do them. Many, many of them are related.

Wish I could print a list.but I will tell everyone.

I always try to find the home address of each company, because it makes it easy to tell.

Either in the terms, or you can do a general search online OR jus do a quick search on BBB.org. They sometimes have the addresses listed for these companies, too.

WooHoo!! I'm soo excited to see that my certificate finally has processed. The funny thing is that I'm not sure when it changed... I've been waiting for all the flashing/blinking words saying it's been processed - but come to find out, they just change the red wording below the categories.lol Anyway... now it's just wait time I guess.
Thank you Carrie for all your help!!! I'm still kind of in disbelief that I'm even attempting this and it's working. It will help our family out immensely!

Chris and Don said...

Hi Carrie,

At one point are people finding out they've been disqualified. I have to I-Deal offers right now that have the final (your offer will be shipped in 6-8 weeks) approval posted. It's been 5 weeks since approval on the Wii offer and the $500 GC offer just got approved 2 days ago. All the reading about people getting DQ'd has me a bit nervous. Thanks!

Cent With Love said...

I RECEIVED MY $500 VISA GIFT CARD - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

The strange part about it is that my certificate for this offer was processed on 2/24 and it arrived at my door on 3/12 - REALLY QUICK!

My $500 Gas card was processed on 2/4, yet I'm still waiting for it. Does that seem odd to you? I still have a couple more weeks before I hit the 8 week mark, but I thought for sure I'd get the $500 gas cards first, wouldn't you?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Congrats!!

If you get a chance, please send me a picture of you and your card. I love posting them to encourage others.

Also, could you leave a comment under the Bragger post, too? It is an easy spot for others to go read when others get their cards.

Finally, on the gas cards..you just never know. You would think they would come in order, but they don't always.

It may be quicker when they order Visa cards then when they order specific gas cards, etc. Plus, they are different websites owned by IDeal, so some sites might be slightly faster.

Let me know when you get the other.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

The DQ's are showing up after the person has already been confirmed to have the product shipped in 6 t 8 weeks.

So, you will be up in the air until your gifts arrive.

As long as you did the research on your offers beforehand, you should be fine.

Nicole @ Nicole's Nickels said...

Hi Carrie:

What about the $25 giftcard bonus offer that many of us do? Do you ever receive this and at what time frame if so?

Hello Carrie--it's Amanda G!

I decided to start a new I-Deal offer since I finally got my gas cards (woohoo!)! I started the onlineproductsavings.us.com one for $500 towards a summer vacation. I went through each of the offer pages to make sure I had enough that I could sign up for before actually filling any of them out. They showed up as "pending", just like they are supposed to. Then I clicked out of everything and started fresh to do the actual offers; it appears that nothing I click on will show up as pending now though...any ideas why not? I allready filled out two offers because I assumed that since they showed up as pending to begin with, that they would work. But I don't want to finish the others until I know that I have a chance at getting credit for those.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Amanda,

You know...I am not sure.

What is it saying if not pending? Did they disappear?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Nicole,

You do eventually receive it. It comes ALOT later. I have gotten mine over 6 months after my original cards before.

Anonymous said...

Dear Carrie--it's Amanda G again!

Nothing is showing up, except the original set of offers I had opened, and they are saying "pending". This is very strange...I checked again this morning to see that (hopefully) the two I had signed up for all ready would have shown up as pending, but they have not.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Amanda,

You should be able to sign up for offers and complete them now. I do this all the time.

Make sure to go re read the instructions for IDeal again. Before completeing an offer, make sure to click on it then go back and sign in to make sure the offer shows up before finalizing your order.

Otherwise, don't finish the order and relog back in and complete teh process again until the offer shows up as pending. Then, you can complete the order.

Carrie -

I had a question on the Wii/Wii Fit Ideal offer (my first one) that I completed last evening. I checked my offers and all of them are still pending. This concerns me because reading your blog most people mention that their silver offers get approved within a few hours. Should I be concerned? If so, do you recommend me doing anything? I appreciate your advise and all of the valuable information you have posted in regards to the on-line deals.

Thanks,
Angie

I am so excited about doing one of these offers (I signed up for the Wii and Wii Fit)! I started on the 26th and had both of my gold offers approved last night (I think they saw that I was compulsively checking and felt bad for me LOL)

Now I just realized the 2 silver offers I signed up for are not even showing up as pending. In fact nothing I've clicked on after the 26th is showing as pending! I'm worried that neither of the 2 silver offers I already signed up for are going to go through. I would just do 2 more replacements and suck up the cost but I can't even get anything to register as pending when I try today. Has this happened to anybody else? Can it just be a fluke of the account?

Thank you so much for your help- I really appreciate that you take time out of your life to help so many people get these great prizes :)

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Lo,

Were they showing as pending before? You followed the directions and made sure they were pending before completing the offer, correct?

If that is the case, then just give the system some time to update and check back tomorrow.

Since some approvals went thru last night, it might still be updating.

If they were NEVER showing pending when you did the offer, then you probably will have to replacements.

Kayla said...

Hi Carrie,

I am a newbie here, and I was going to try for the $500 Visa from I-DEAL (the one that comes with a Chevy t-shirt). BUT, whenever I click on any of the offers (example: 4 bags of coffee for $4.95), it takes me to a different window that says "$300 towards family portraits" an starts a whole new senario with more offers, saying that now I am signing up for the $300 for pictures! What do I do? THanks!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Wow..I have never heard of that before.

I would try a different offer.

I believe the St. Patrick day one is for a $500 Visa Gift Card, but you don't get the T-shirt.

But, I would be leery of completing that if the offers aren't lining up.

That could mean some coding errors, and I would be afraid of tracking problems for the offers you would do.

Not worth playing around with the site if it is acting quirky.

Just pick a new webpage to do.

Anonymous said...

Hi Carrie,
I am excited to finally figure out that my first offer was a Nuitech offer. I actually have no idea how I got into this offer but since I have invested in it, I am trying to complete it. I started 3/18 and I finally, today, have my platium offer approved. But that is the only one and it is the offer I will not cancel. When should I decide to do replacement offers? I never got confirmration that my silver offer "took". No email, no confirmation, but the entire process seemed to finished. I'm new at this. I'm in the process of a trial on my Gold offer which ends in a 9 days so I hope that will show approved soon. What should I do next? Thanks!
Ruth

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hi Ruth,

If you did a Nuitech offer, you are actually in the wrong section. You are leaving the question in the IDeal section.

With Nuitech, you do not need to do replacements. They will give you manual credit.

Please make sure to go read the Nuitech instructions, as they are different than the IDeal. You can find the instructions and the Q&A section for Nuitech in the right menu bar of this site.

After reading all the instructions, if you still have questions, please let me know.

Carrie,
I am currently doing the 500$ Visa and Jersey deal. I just realized a bit too late that I need to have one referral. I am very worried that I won't be able to find one person who will do it with me! How do you get your referrals (besides this blog)? I have completed every requirement except this one! Thanks,

Rachel

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hi Rachel,

I, personally, don't do referral offers...so I don't even get any referrals from my blog.

I just don't like them, because someone is always last and doesn't get anything.

When you log into your account, does it show there that you need a referral ( below where all your offers are )

Some of the sites are changing for new members, but if it wasn't a referral when you signed up, you shouldn't need one.

You can check this by logging in and checking on that page.

Let me know.

The only other option would be to try and get a family member or friend to be your referral. They won't get their gift unless they refer someone, though.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Cindy,

Were you at your 60 day mark already?

As long as it is postmarked before your 60 day mark, you should be fine.

I would send them an email letting them know the day you mailed it, the delivery confirmation # and that your account says expired and you got it mailed before your 60 day mark.

That way, they have a heads up on the issue.

Cindy said...

Carrie,
Thanks for the quick reply. It's not my account that has expired, it's the link itself that no longer works. Clicking on the link that I did when I first started, brings me to a page saying that the offer has expired. I'm not even sure how to contact them now. Have you ever heard of this?
Thanks,
Cindy

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Cindy,

Yes, the actual form does expire. So, it is important to get it mailed asap.

To contact them, there should be a link in the bottom of the page that says Contact US. Click on that and it takes you to a page to fill out.

I would just shoot them an email and let them know you just mailed it and did they know what day the form expired...because you didn't want there to be any issues if you mailed it on this date.

Heather said...

Quick question about related companies..... If I know that company A and company B are related can I do them both during different offers? Like complete company A for an online offer for a Wii and then complete company B for an online offer for a $500 gift card? Hopefully that makes sense... thanks in advance for your help!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

No.

You cannot duplicate across offers within a 6 month period.

Some say you can if one company is Top Notch and one is 123 Click for example..but I have yet to confirm that on my own.

But, others have duplicated across companies like that.

But, definitely if you are doing two Top Notch sites, for example, you cannot duplicate, even if you are doing two different websites.

Hi,
I wanted to let you know that I received a $500 visa gift card! Hurray!!! It worked! Thank you SO much for your site - I never would have tried this except for your VERY clear instructions.

Now I'm working on a second offer, and I have a question. It is an I-Deal site, and on the gold offer page I clicked through to photocubbies (a photo printing site I'm interested in.) I signed up and have my "welcome" page and everything, but it didn't show up on my i-deal page. Not even as "pending" - it just isn't there. What happened? Is there a way to fix that? If I tried to sign up again, would that disqualify me somehow? Thanks so much for your help!!

Congrats Emily! If you get a chance, please send a picture in for the Bragger post and leave a comment under the Bragger post, too.

In regards to this offer, if it didn't show up as pending before you completed the offer, then it will probably never show up as pending and you probably won't get credit.

I would leave it until you get ready to do your other replacements, but more than likely...you will need to do a replacement.

You are always remembering to check that they are pending before you complete the offer, right?

Kim P said...

Hey Carrie - Kim here, I thought I would post on the right section this time :)
My replacements for my replacements have not approved yet. I did them on the 23rd. Is there usually a weekend delay? Today will be 3 days.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Kim,

You know, I have never paid attention to weekends. If none of the replacements came thru yet, I would hold off and wait a few more days and see, because they usually come thru in a batch.

Kim P said...

Getting worried...I'm on day 23. My replacement-replacements have still not approved. I'm not sure if I should keep waiting, do more replacements or give up entirely. If my offers did get approved, I would just need to get those forms mailed and received by the Top Notch people by day 60, right? I'm wondering if I'm running out of time to do more replacements. I'm also worried that the likelihood of accidentally doing two from the same parents company will be greater the more replacements I have to do.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Kim,

Obviously, the liklihood does increase that you will duplicate the more you do. But, if the offers don't approve, they shouldn't count towards your duplicate process as they didn't give you credit.

Now, the offers wouldn't originally show up as pending and you had to use a different computer to get them to show up, right?

Once they showed up, did you use that same computer?

I am wondering if there is something odd about your cookies that might be preventing these offers from going thru. You didn't delete or clear out your cookies, did you?

Meanwhile, I would email IDeal and ask them for some advice. Explain how many offers you have done that haven't shown up.

We realize they can't give you manual credit, but ask if they have any idea if you have something set up wrong on your PC that would cause the offers to not feed thru so many times.

You do have until day 60. Read your terms/conditions, but if all else fails, most IDeal sites give you a small token gift if you don't complete the offer ( I believe it is $50 ). But, read your specific sites details to see if it applies to your specific case.

Keep me posted on what IDeal says when you email them and if they think it may be your cookies, etc.

Hi Carrie, Thank you for your awesome blog. I decided to try $500 visa offer. I started on April 20, all offer were pending(it seems forever) and today is the day 11 and there is only 1 offer got approved. I am getting impatience now. I wonder why it take so long and only 1 got approved. Do you think I-Deal has changed their cycle? Please help. Thank so much for your time.
Hannah.
(i left a comment here few days ago but never see it posted)

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hi Hannah,

IDeal has 2 cycles. The first cycle, adn then also the 20 day cycle. You never know which you will be on.

Did the 1 offer just approve last night, or has it been approved for awhile?

I wouldn't do anything yet, as it appears you are on the 2nd cycle.

Please write back when you hit the dates for the 2nd cycle and let me know if anything has approved then.

If you need more details on the 2 cycles, go to the IDeal instructions on my site where it will spell out the 2 seperate timelines.

Please keep me posted!

Hi Carrie, thank you for quick respond. There was only 1 get approved today (day 11), first 10day all of the offers stayed pending. I just read some other website, they suggest that we should leave the confirmation window for 5-10mins after finishing an offer (I wish I learned this tip when I signed up). In another search, I find many other people still pending since April 15.
There are some offers that if I stay pass the trial, they will be very expensive. I might have to consider the worth of them.
Thanks Carrie for your support.
Hannah.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hannah,

I have never heard of keeping the confirmation window open before.

Let me know where you read that, because if it is a new step, I would like to include it in my instructions. I'll go check it out.

Carrie, here are the links:

http://www.points2shop.com/offer/8694/e-ResearchCenter--80s-Survey/
(this is the same offer I signed up: $500 visa: what's your favorite of the 80's, shown that many others do this offer and still pending)

http://freeshit4all.blogspot.com/2008/10/i-deal-lecture-and-links.html
(this is another guide how to do online offer)

I plan to wait until day 21 but meanwhile I have to cancel some offers before the trial end. At this point if I have to do 7 replacements that could be too much for me and I might run into "duplicate offer" or I might try to do couple of replacements and apply the tip that leave the windows for 5-10 mins to see if that works.
I'll give you update. Hannah.

I completed the last two replacements on the same computer where I got them to come up as pending. Here is how I did it - Tell me if this is wrong. I went to the free gift card site, entered my name in check status, clicked on qualify for more offers, picked an offer and clicked on it, closed down the status window and list of silver offers window, clicked on check gift status again and when it said pending went ahead and completed the offer in the window that I left open. Could it have gotten messed up when I closed the list of offers down? I'm not sure about cookies. My antivirus is set up to delete cookies daily, but if it isn't deleting while I am working on the deal it shouldn't matter. It does it at the same time every day which is at noon and didn't interfere.

Also - I have emailed them twice. The first time I got the "We won't help you until it has been 30 days" response and the second time I got no response.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hannah,

I have never done half of the stuff she is talking about and have been doing online offers for almost 4 years now.

I couldn't tell if he/she was talking about IDeal or not at first..as some of her vergage seemed to be talking about her site.

I do not clear cookies afterward, so if you were clearing them right after ( were you? )then that could have caused the problem.

She mentions she leaves it open until they approve...but IDeal doesn't approve until day 10/11...so thinking she is not talking about IDeal.

My understanding is sheis talking about getting points for the offers on her site..points 2 shop. So, those, I believe, are instructions for her site in general.

Let me know if that is not true.

It is a VERY interesting article..thanks so much for sending thru.

Another questions - The T&C's have changed on the deal I'm doing. It is now 2 silvers, 2 golds, and 8 platinums, with 2 referrals. On my status page it still has the 2, 2, and 4 listed as what is needed. Can my requirements change after I have started the offer?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

You are usually grandfathered in ( hence why your login hasn't changed ).

But, this is why it is always important to make sure to copy all terms/conditions when you begin your process.

If you don't have copies, do a screen print now of your login page, so you have proof in case they do try to change the offer on you.

But, I have never heard of them not giving someone there original terms that they signed up under. You should be fine in that aspect.

Regarding to cookies, my husband cleared the cookies very regularly (his habit) but when I signed up I only completed the offer that shown "pending" (there was an offer that I intended to sign up but did not show pending, so I gave it up) And the night that I completed all the offers I never cleared the cookies, just turn computer off and went to bed. So the fact that my husband always clear the cookies in daily basic could cause the problem? I did receive some emails from offers that I signed up almost immediately and they even have my IP#, but some are never heard from them. Do you think that the problem I have is just the delay of the report from advertiser?
Another thing is the only 1 got approved is the very last offer that I completed that night.
Yet I had read your instruction, comments and answers many times before I got started, see people got approved within hours and couple of days, now I wonder what I was doing wrong?
About the other sites that I searched, the 1st link(points2shop): many people do the same offer that I did "$500 visa GC: What's your favorite part of the 80's" still pending since 4/15.
the 2nd link is a blog (not related to the 1st), they event talked about Nuitech offer. Both 2 sites above I found that they suggest to leave confirmation windows on up to 5-10mins for ample offer tracking time which seems like a good idea even through we don't know how reliable it is, if I do replacement I will try that and let you know.
Thanks again. Hannah.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hannah,

When that sites says they are still waiting for approval/credit, they are talking about on the site you are on right then..points2shop.

For example, that site is giving points to members to sign up for the IDeal offer. They are leaving their windows open on the IDeal sign up, waiting to get their credit on the points2shop site. They then take those points and redeem them. They are rating them on whether they get their points and not if they get their $500.

They are not talking about all the offers within the IDeal site, like we are. So, they are using the site differently than we are...not to get the $500, but to get the points on that site.

You can call me tomorrow, if you want to talk about how that site works and what they are doing and I can explain better if this didn't all make sense.

Here are some of the terms from IDeal sites that may help you on crediting:

(3.) In order to receive credit for completing an offer, you must complete the offer by clicking on the offer from this website. You must click the offer link via our web page in order for us to correctly track and credit your account. Importantly, some applications such as spyware blockers or pop-up blockers may preclude these links from functioning correctly and 123 Click, Inc. is not liable for such failures.

(7.) In order to receive proper credit for completing an offer, you must make sure that your browser settings are set to accept all cookies, and that you click on our exact offer link to get to the offer provider’s website.

Once accepted, not sure how cookies work and what happens when you cancel them out the next morning....as I am not that familiar with cookies. But, I would suspect that may have something to do with it. I would make sure your computer accepts all cookies and then don't touch them again until you get credit, myself.

Well, I tried it with all of my internet security stuff turned off and one of the two new replacements I did approved. So now I am up to 17 offers on an 8 offer deal. I don't think that turning off the security made the difference because it was on when my first round of offers approved. I still need one more silver offer to approve. I am already invested quite a bit into this, so I'm going to try again.

As far as being grandfathered in, I did copy the terms in the first place and have lots of screen prints - so I am okay there.

I don't think I'll do another IDeal. At the very least I'm going to end up having done 18 offers. It has been a lot of added time and money from what I initially planned on. Your help has been awesome though. I'll keep you posted on my final replacement.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Kim,

You are definitely at the top end of offers.

It usually ranges from 1 to 4 replacements ( meaning your original 8 plus maybe 4 more..so 12 ).

So, to be up that high...well, you are first I have heard this happen to.

I will be curious to see if this begins to happen to others as more of a norm in their cycle, or if this was a one off incident.

Keep me posted!

Hi, I'm a newbie in need of some help! I registered for the $500 Orbitz reward with e-BonusRewards. As per the instructions, I tried to open a second window and log in to make sure my first offer said "processing" before I completed it. But I just keep getting a message saying that my e-mail address doesn't exist and I should wait fifteen mins. from the time I signed up before logging in. It's been longer than that and I'm wondering if I should start over and try registering again? I finally got my courage up to try one of these, and I don't know if it will last if I have to wait too much longer to start! :-)

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Laura,

I would send them an email if you still can't get in.

It is usually instanteous, so it seems something is a little off.

Or, you may just disregard that one altogether and sign up for another $500 Visa IDeal offer and start all over, so you don't even have to worry about there being problems with that other account again...since that is abnormal.

Hi Carrie:

I was hoping that more than 24 hours would go by without another question from me, but I'm back again. Thank you for all your patience & help!

First, I just want to say I'm so excited -- after only a few days of compulsive checking, my silver and gold offers have approved; just waiting for the platinums. Seem to be on the same cycle as Ashley mentioned in January . . . 24 hours for Silver, 4 days for Gold, and now we'll see for Platinum. (Doing the IDeal - Top Notch - $500 CVS card.)

My question is: I'd like to snoop around in some of the other IDeal offers to see their terms, and realize I can usually do this by checking Terms & Conditions and the different offer categories at the bottom of the very first page without signing in. But does IDeal use your e-mail address to start clocking the 60 days, or the computer ISP number?

If it's by e-mail, then I won't worry about running out of time by doing research, since I'm not logged in at all. But if by ISP, then I'll use another computer to do the research, then my own to do the offers. Do you have any info on this (and did it make sense to you?)

Thanks again,
Mary Beth

Oh, one other thing . . . RoboForms is EXCELLENT!!! I had been using Google AutoFill, and thought I was doing fine . . . but sort of frustrated because now I've got an e-mail address for every day, plus one for online deals, and another for surveys, and another for mystery shopping -- and AutoFill was clumsy at going back & forth between them all.

Downloaded RoboForm yesterday, and it's already saved me loads of time, as well as being very intuitive to use. Now -- depending on what I'm trying to get into -- it remembers ALL of my aliases, identities, e-mails and passwords. Thank heavens, 'cause I can't remember who I am anymore.

Anyway, great FREE program! Thanks for promoting it.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hi Mary Beth,

If you are just clicking the links at the bottom of the first page to look around and not setting an account up with them ( by using an email ) your close has NOT started.

What you will notice, if one you click to the different levels from the bottom, if you click on an offer, it won't let you, and tells you to set up an account first.

But, once you establish your account via your email, the clock starts!

Glad your offers is progressing along...can't wait until you get your $$.

Hi,
Thanks so much for your help.
I do have one question.
All my offers have been approved, and I sent in the redemption certificate with delivery confirmation.
It does not say delivered. It says "arrival at unit" and gives the zip code of the destination. Is this normal? My post office says it means it's been delivered, but I don't think they're the most reliable source.
I was just wondering if that is what it says when you've mailed in your certificates in the past?
Thanks,
Melissa

When I first read about doing these offers about a year ago I opened a couple of different email accounts and started registering for these. I never completed any offers.

My concern is I don't remember now what email address I was using for the Ideal sites. I'm worried if I already have an account registered and use a different email address than the one I registered with a year ago. Will this get me disqualified or is it only if I try and use a different name and address?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

You must use the same email address across each subsite ( Top Notch, 123 Click, etc )

If you can't remember what you used, I would consider clicking the contact us button the site you are interested in doing and explaining you had signed up for one of their sites a year ago...but can't remember the email address you used.

Email them your name, address and phone and ask that they let you know which email address you used, or if it would be OK to sign up now and use ( provide the email you are interested in using ) and then just see what they say.

Better to check ahead of time, then get DQ'd later.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Does it give a date?

When I use delivery confirmation, I then enter my # at the usps website and it gives me a date of when it arrived.

I have never really seen what you are describing, unless this is something new?

Rachel said...

FYI, "arrival at unit" means it's arrived at the post office in that town/area. It should be updated again once it's delivered to the actual address you sent it to.

Hope this helps, and good luck!!

Hi,
I just did the St. Patty's Day Offer for a $500 gift card. All of my offers went thru but the Disney Movie Club. I sent them an e-mail saying that DMC billed me and sent my movies. When I just went in to check the status, DMC still doesn't show as approved, but I now see the "Congratulations, you've been approved. Click here to redeem your gift." Do you know why they would let me complete the certificate if they haven't approved my last offer yet? Should I go ahead and mail in the Certificate with my W-9?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

With IDeal, there is really no point in emailing them as their terms clearly say they won't give manual credit..meaning you just do replacements.

So, now, if I understand, your certificate is there, BUT all your categories aren't done?

Hmmm...not sure what to do. You can print and send your form, but they could come back later and cancel your account saying you didn't complete all your offers, you know?

You could also do a replacement, just to get your account up to par and then print the form ( if it is still there ).

If it was me...I would probably print the forms out.

Then, I would do a replacement. Once the replacement goes thru ( make sure not a duplicate parent company offer ), I would do a screen print showing I completed all categories.

I am really not sure what else to tell you, as I have never seen this problem before...just giving advice based on what I would do personally.

I just ran into a really weird situation, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I was checking the silver, gold, and platinum offers pages (ahead of time, thank goodness!) to see if there were offers I wanted to complete. On the platinum page, it said I needed to complete four offers, but there were only THREE available! Isn't that bizarre? So I guess I won't be able to do that one? (It is the iDeal MarketLabs offer for $500 in groceries).

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Emily,

That is bizarre and not normal for IDeal.

They could be reloading and updating their sites with new offers today.

Check back in a day or so and see if any new offers are out there. If not, I would move on to another one.

Hi,
Thanks to your great advice I've already done 2 Ideal offers and am working on my 3rd. I'm finding that things get trickier now. I know the 6 month rule, but my question is, after 6 months can you repeat offers? For example, there is a makeup trial I did 9 months ago. I wish I had kept it when they offered me a lower price, but I didn't. Can I back and do the same offer? Also, do you wait 6 months from when you receive your card, offer approves, or you initially complete offer. I've been pretty cautious so far. Thanks for your advice.

Carrie - a friend and I are in need of help! We both started an offer at the same time so we could help each other, but I don't know what to do now. I started June 18, and I had 2 silver, 2 gold, and 2 platinum approve by the 10th day. I'm still missing 2 platinum, so I started to do replacements. Here's the problem: When I click on offers on the platinum page now (I tried 3), they go to a blank page that says in big red letters, "THIS OFFER HAS EXPIRED." I really need to do those 2 replacements, so I'm at a loss. Do you have any tips?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Lauren,

I have never heard of that happening, BUT if they are expired, I am sure it is correct.

What IDeal does is use affiliate offers for you to complete. Once you do, they pay IDeal and then IDeal pays us.

But,if an offer is no longer available from the originating company, then IDeal doesn't want you to complete it.

If you did, they wouldn't get paid and thus couldn't pay you. So, they are actually saving you from doing an invalid offer.

I would try a few more. If none of them are available, I would email IDeal ( there should be a contact us button at the bottom of the page ) and ask them why none of their offers are valid.

Tell them you want to do offers to qualify for your gifts and none of the offers are coming up valid.

Let me know!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Megan,

I am so sorry. I thought I had responded. Sometimes I do that.

After 6 months, you can do the offer again, if they allow it to go thru. Many of them do.

I always wait the longest time, just to play it safe. So, I wait 6 months from the day I get my gift.

BUT, in all honesty, I think it is 6 months from the date next to the offer when you originally signed up.

I am just a play it safe type of girl, so I wait.

Hi Carrie,

I am on my last replacement offer for the IDeal IPod Touch offer and I ran into a snag. When I logged on to the site today to do a replacement offer it appears that all offers have expired! I get the message "This offer has expired." on all offers. I sent them an email but thought I would post a comment here as well. I hope I have just caught them at a time where they are updating offers or something, and will check the website later, but this makes me awfully nervous since I am almost done with the process! Thanks for your advice as always.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Lisa,

Don't worry. This happens each month.

My theory is just what you said. They are updating offers and what is available.

Just check back periodically over the next few days, and they usually all come back up!

Unknown said...

Thanks Carrie. I actually got a response from Customer Service already, and this is what they said:

"According to our records you never fully registered for your account. You would need to go back to the first page of the website and enter your current email address. After you enter your email address you will be prompted to enter your name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Once you have entered that information please allow up to 15 minutes for your account to update.

You will not lose credit for any of the offers you completed."

I tried to find the "first" page they referenced to follow their instructions and was not able to. The "first" page for me is the Silver Offer page, and there is nothing there. The main www.gizmodepot.com page actually now has a different offer - an IPhone rather than the IPod touch - so I didn't want to go further on that page. I emailed Customer Service again and we'll see what they say.

Thanks again for your help.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Usually you only have trouble printing your forms if you didn't do the first part.

You didn't copy the URL of the site you did? Where do you go in to log into your account to check your status?

That is the first page!

For anyone reading this, whenever you do an online offer, always copy the url of the site you are starting from onto your spreadsheet.

If you go to my spreadsheet tab on my Online Offers web page, you will see I have a spot where I enter the complete url.

I do this, because the urls are slightly different for the website if they offer many different gifts. You want the one that goes with your gift.

Lisa,

Did you sign up for this offer thru my website? If you did, is the offer still available? If so, just click to it again thru my website and you should be able to get the full url.

Unknown said...

Thanks Carrie. I did try clicking though your website and didn't have any luck as it appeared that the place to enter my address, etc. appeared but then disappeared. Upon trying it a second time I see that a second window actually opened and I could complete my contact information. I thought the problem was that I initially skipped all of the annoying "yes, no" offers and when straight to the offers and that may have caused something not to register correctly. So I went through all of the offers until I got to the end, and it still didn’t work. I still got the expired message. I even tried closing my browser and logging back in. No luck. It may be that, like you said, the real problem is that they are changing their offers. I will check back later/tomorrow and hopefully it will get straightened out. I will also see what Customer Service has to say.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Yes, I was kind of surprised when they told you that.

I had never heard of the expired problem from not completing all the yes/no questions before.

Everyone else who has ever gotten that have had it cleared up in a couple days.

But, you are doing the right thing by contacting CS.

Let me know what happens.

Unknown said...

Now that I have successfully completed one of these offers I am ready to try a new one. I have some questions though before I start that I am hoping you can help me with.

So, I did the foreign oil $500 offer with Market Labs and am really nervous about the parent company thing.

So, let's say I do an offer with Top Notch, specifically the $500 Michael Jackson one.

Do I need to worry about making sure that the offers are not offers from the same parent company that I completed within Market Labs or just within this Top Notch offer?

Let's say I tried for another gift card from Market Labs. Would I need to avoid offers from the same parent company that I did in my first Market Labs offer?

I'm hoping you have a little insight on this as you know the situations of those that have been dq'd for this.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Others have done them across sub companies and not had problems when they duplicated within the parents company.

With that said, I would still try to avoid it, if possible. There is no guarantee they won't come back and say you duplicated.

You may try doing a Nuitech offer instead, since the stipulations are now only 30 days. Then you don't have to worry about it.

Carrie,

Thanks for all this great info. I'm doing my 3rd Ideal offer and have had no problems with the previous two. This one is 6 months after my first, so I'm able to re-do some of the offers I'd previously done. It's day 11 and 7 of my offers have approved. The only one I'm waiting on is Silkies. However, I realized I haven't received an email from them and my credit card hasn't been charged. So I don't think it actually went through when I signed up with them. Do you know if it would work to re-do that offer or is that too risky? I'm a little worried about duplicating a parent company, so if I can do Silkies that would be great, but obviously I don't want to compromise the whole thing. Any advice would be great. Thanks so much!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Personally, I think it probably just didn't go through. I would call them and check.

If they show no record, you should be OK.

But, if you would rather play it safe, pick another offer..I guess.

Just don't want it to pop up later and they then say you did it twice.

Thanks for all of this info. I tried my first I-Deal offer yesterday. I used RoboForm and it filled in one e-mail address when I really wanted to use another one I'd set up for this purpose. On some of the offer sites I went in and changed the e-mail address to the one I wanted, but my log-in address on the parent company site apparently is the one from RoboForm. I don't know if I caught all of the offers to change the address or not. Since they are all supposed to use the same e-mail, what do you think will happen? I now know how to edit my RoboForm info. to adapt to the situation. I should have thought about doing that. I'm concerned about my outcome. I have been approved for 2 offers so far. Thank You for your time.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Only time will tell....but in general, they mean you have to use the same email address for each website you do....such as all the $500 Gift Card offers you do.

I have used different email addresses once I have signed up before on accident, too for offers, and it didn't DQ me.

But, that is not to say it couldn't happen. I think you will probably be OK, though, because it tracks you thru the link you are signing up with and not the email address, I think.

Hi to all of you thanks for posting these great offers. After 2 days of reading how to do all this i went ahed and started to do the offers today one of them said 7 days free trial after that 14.95. so the credit card company called dh to tell him that 14.95 was charged as well as another charges i knewthey will be charged because i accepted them. Now my question is has this happen to anybody that they charge right away even they are not supposed to. I called the company and they told me that the charge they put it but it won't go through until the 7 day trial. What do you advice? Dh told me if you trust everything will go fine just keep it as is.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Yes, this does happen on most offers and is why you can't use prepaid credit cards and I suggest NEVER using debit cards.

First, this actually happens on many things. Did you know when you go to the gas station and use a credit card and only fill up with $10, they can actually put thru charges of, say $40, and leave them pending until it all clears.

Often, people with debit cards, if they leave a low balance in their checking accounts can actually bounce checks because a hold of $40 is on their money.

Companies do this to ensure you have enough money to pay and cover themselves.

So, if you take the trial and never return it to them, for example, they are checking to make sure that $14.95 will be able to be processed

If you actually log into your credit card account, the charge should say pending ( not approved ) and won't go approved unless you keep the trial.

But, this is not money you owe unless you keep it past the trial.

ALSO..very common for credit cards to call you when doing Online Offers.

In fact, if your credit card company doesn't call you to check why all these online charges are coming through, I would suggest finding another credit card that is safer. :)

Hope all this info helps you out!

Carrie i would like to know how to deal with this. Ok i subscribe to orowhote, ivory white and ageinvisible. myesterday i received e-mails with saying that the products has been shipped. and they put a lot of information and as you adviced us i read it all. I noticed that they said y0ou should return the product unopened if you don't want to get charge. So i would like to know if it's better just to receive the package and just send it back without opening it or i open it but i don't open the product. do you how that works??

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

If the box says not to open, and you don't think you want the product...then definitely don't open it.

I would call them before you return it, though, to make sure you don't need an RMA, etc.

Don't just return it, as they may not give you credit if you don't call them to check first.

Hi Carrie,
I've completed a Top Notch offer, and the Visa card is in the mail! YAY! I'm starting another Top Notch offer today-it's the "Got Milk?" Tee shirt with $500 Visa. With the t shirt will this put me over the $1000 maximum gift award? I'm not sure how to check the "value" of each offer.

Thanks!
Kirsten

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

That is a great question...I don't know, honestly.

I always assumed it didn't, but technically it would put you over.

I would email them thru the Got Milk website and let them know the other offer you did.

Then, ask them if this offer is OK to do since it is $500, but ask them if the free T Shirt puts you over the $1,000 per 6 month threshold.

Kirsten said...

Thanks! I emailed them and will let you know what the response is if anyone else ever needs to know! Thanks for your awesome blog! I have a lot of my friends/family hooked on all your great info, and I'm addicted to saving money now!

i have a quick question ( i think). all my offers have been approved and i've been qualified and sent in all paperwork. question is...as soon as it says approved on my status page, then is it good to cancel? or, since i have qualified for the prize and have sent in my paperwork, am i good to cancel? do i have to wait till i get my prize to cancel?
thanks, carrie.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Unfortunately, I have no set answer to that. :)

IDeal doesn't have any set requirements on offers, but I can only tell you they ask that you honestly try their products and decide from there whether these offers are something you would like to keep or not!

HI CARRIE,

MY SILVER AND 3 OF MY PLATIUM WERE APPROVED BY DAY 7 BUT NOT THE GOLD.
SO NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE 2 GOLD AND 1 PLATIUM I AM IN DAY 14 SHOULD I WAIT MORE OR DO THEM.

BY THE WAY I DID THE PLATIUM REPLACEMENT 2 DAYS AGO NO ANSWER YET. SO WHAT SHOULD I DO.

THANKS CARRIE

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

You mean on day 10, right and not day 7?

You can choose to wait until the next cycle at around 21 days to see if anything else approves ( some have said around 30 days even, lately ).

BUT, I usually don't advise that. Since you only have 60 days to get everything done and into them.

I would give your replacements a few more days, and if they don't come thru, then you will need to do the 3 replacements then.

More than likely, since it is only day 2, they will be processing today in the batch cycle.

hind said...

NO CARRIE THEY WERE APPROVED BY DAY 7. SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Right...some of them will approve early. But, the full batch doesn't go thru until Day 10/11, so you don't do replacements until then.

But, it sounds like you didn't do your replacements until after that date anyway.

hind said...

hi carrie,

if i started to do my offers in 9/11 and i didn't complete a lot of them i just open and close and just you know they say pending. Now i want to complete some replacements can i just go and complete one of the ones it says pending? if i click in it it should change the date from 9/11 to the date i will actually make it or it will state 9/11? i am asking you this because you told us tomake sure that the offer says pending before to do it but how i will i know if the date it's 9/11 in it? am i clear?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

I understand! :)

I usually click thru on the level I want again, and the offer then check to make sure it is there again.

I do usually make sure the date changes before I complete the offer, since I don't want it to not register.

But, that is not to say it will definitely. I have done the replacement offer before as long as the initial click went thru, so I know it is feeding.

The hope is the date will update. But, if not, usually it is still OK.

How did your other replacements go today? Did they come thru?

hind said...

not yet so i am starting to worry that they will never come through because it looks like i am doing replacements and if they are not approving i will run out of offers.so far i have 2 silver and 3platium approved.

Hey Carrie,

I'm wondering if you know of anyone having trouble getting "credit" for signing up for Creditreport.com. Both my daughter and I signed up for them as one of our offers and it still is the only thing that hasn't credited. All my other platinum offers have worked just fine. Have you ever called a company to ask if they can notify the company offering the gift that you satisfied the offer? I can do a replacement offer, but don't want to in case this one just takes longer to clear...

Thanks!
Betsy

Well i am not complaining. so now i have 1 platium and 1 gold so be done.the thing is i don't even know if i am in a cycle because my offers have been approving in weird days. i started the whole thing the 9/11 so i guess i will wait a little more to see if something else approves.

I am new to this, and havent started yet. All the Ideal adds say they are no longer available. do you have a more recent one? thank you. or do you know where I can find one?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Which ads are you looking at?

All of the ones in the right side bar are IDeal.

I just checked a hand full of them, and they seem to be working OK.

The ones that are blank, I need to pull down ( sorry, I do it once a week and haven't pulled them yet )

But, I just checked the IDeal Bullseye ads, and they are working, and the category just below that, too.

Let me know specifically.

Just wanted to let you know that my fourth IDeal offer (since beginning last February) just approved and has been sent off. I'm also almost finished with my second Nuitech offer. Whew! Now I'm taking a break for awhile. :) I've found that there is kind of a sweet spot for time invested vs. payoff: the beginning is hard because there is a learning curve, then there were a couple of offers that were incredibly easy because I knew what I was doing, and then the last one was tricky (and stressful) because it got a lot harder to make sure that I wasn't accidentally duplicating parent companies (you start running out of available offers after awhile!) Anyway, just thought I'd post this update and some feedback for those who are reading and learning!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

don't call the company, as they cannot help you.

In fact, most sites will tell you never to call the companies.

For example, as a blogger, I actually could put their ad on my site and get paid for people who click thru...they work with millions of websites thru third party companies, and they would have no way on their end to tell exactly where to credit.

The customer service reps are only there to help you with your account and your credit score.

If this is the only offer that hasn't approved, that is VERY good.

People can have as many as 4 ( a few times, even more ) not approve and replacements that need to be done.

If you only had one offer not go thru for IDeal and you are on day 10/11, do a replacement.

You only have 60 days to get them all approved, paperwork printed, sent in and approved. Sometiems, once you send the paperwork in, they never get it and you have to resend.

You want to have extra time for that.

You always want to save the original link as that is usually the only one that works for me.

That was lucky you were getting it to work from a generic link.

Hi,
So I love your site and have totally gone after these online offers...I have a $1000 Wal Mart gift card coming and I have done two I-deal $500 visa cards through top notch--here is my question--when I did my second top notch-I deal card they said it was on hold because I violated their rule--the one that says you can do multiple offers through top notch media as long as they don't exceed $1000 in a six month period. Have you ever heard of this? I read all the terms and conditions before starting the second offer--then I did it got approved mailed my certificate and then bam-on hold. I wrote them a letter asking them to explain in better detail what went wrong as I only recieved from them a $500 visa card earlier. What do you think? Thanks for all you do!

Hi carrie, some questions before sending my redemtion certificate.

1.IN THE W-9 FORM there is a question that says check appropiate box indivudual/sole propietor corporation partnership i am sure you know what i am talking about. What should i put in there? i just fill out my name, address and put my social and left that blank but i am not sure if it's ok

2. if my card comes when i am not home the fedex will leave it or leave a note or something.(maybe i am making the groceries or something else)

Hi Carrie
Is Ideal slowing down with processing gifts? I did an offer earlier this year and got my gift card very quickly. Then I completed two more sub-sites in august...my certificates were approved for both over 4 weeks ago...still waiting on my gifts. I guess I'm just antsy!

Kelly said...

Hi Carrie,

I was wondering if you can help me. I have completed and received a gift card for $500 for my first ideal offer a couple of weeks ago. I just checked on the status of my second offer and I found this
:In a six month period, each household may qualify for and receive (a) multiple promotional items with a total value of , or (b) one (1) promotional item with a value that exceeds . A household may qualify for and receive each promotional item one (1) time.

Is this what happens when someone gets disqualified? I thought you could do up to $1000 in six months which is what this would be. What action do you suggest I take? Thanks!! I hope that this didnt disqualify me forever because I really love these!!

Kelly said...

oh Hi Carrie--Its Kelly again. I forgot to mention that those two offers were both Top Notch ones. The one that has my account on hold is the milk t-shirt offer. Thanks.

Melanie said...

I just started the Got Milk/$500 offer (my first) and the 1st day I signed in it said I needed 2 silver, 2 gold, and 4 platinum offers.

Now when I follow the link that I saved it says 8! platinum offers instead of 4. When I check under the pending status it still says 4 are needed along with the 2 silver and 2 gold.

Could they switch it like that after I've started an offer?

Thanks for any help.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Yes, they can switch them at anytime. They can even change them to need referrals.

But, USUALLY, as long as you set your account up before they changed the terms, you are grandfathered into the original agreement.

So, if you log into your account, it should still show you only need 4, right?

This is what you go by, not what is on the first page before you log in.

Now, if the log in page has changed also, then you will need to do 8. But, this usually doesn't happen.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

That is what usually happens when you get DQd.

You will need to write them a letter to make sure, but if your 2nd offer was $500 PLUS the Tshirt, then that Tshirt is probably pushing you over the $1,000 mark ( by probably like $10 or something ).

But, I am sure that is what is causing the problem.

If they were both Top Notch sites, you will probably still be OK to do other sub sites of theirs. BUT, when you pick out your next offer...say it is 123 Click, write 123 Click, explain what happened, and ask if you can do their site.

Just explain that the sites look to be thru the same company as Top Notch, and you want to make sure before you start.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Not that I know of...as of yet. I still get emails from others saying they got their gifts quickly.

They can take up to 6 weeks, as per their site, but they usually come before that.

Hold tight a few more weeks. If you don't have them by week 6, then check in with them.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

You want to check individual/sole proprieter, unless you did this offer as part of a business?

Yes, Fed Ex will contact you if you weren't home.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

when I address mine, I always send it to the name of the site I did.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Did one of your offers have a Tshirt or any other small gift with the $500 you did?

If so, that is pushing you over the $1,000 mark and will DQ you.

If not, definitely wait to they write you back to see what is causing the issue of pushing you over the limit.

Keep us all posted!

Kelly said...

Hi Carrie-Its Kelly again. I just wrote to you about my account beinf on hold because I exceeded the limit. Yes both my offers had t shirts. I thought the total $1000 was just for monetary purposes and I didnt realize they valued the shirts. And I have read all the comments and I hadnt read that happened to anyone else so I thought it was okay to proceed. I am so bummed. I will still write them though. Does this mean that i am disqualified from top notch forever? IDEAL too?

Hi,

I have done two of these offers and it has been awesome. I have been telling tons of people about it and was wondering if I could put a link on my blog to your Online offers directions page? You have written up such great directions.
Thanks,
Jill
stretchitoutoutout.blogspot.com

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Yes, that is no problem. I appreciate the chance to help others earn and save, so if you feel my directions will help your readers feel free to send them over.

Thank you so much for asking!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Yes, any prize has a value to it. For example, readers who do offer for Wiis and Wii Sports...although they don't get a gift card, there is still a monetary value attached to the prize and it will be included on the w-9 forms.

So, technically, anything you get free has some value attached to it, even if it is $10 for a shirt ( not sure what they value it at..you would need to check with them...I am just guessing a number for the shirt )

They just state the value of your free gifts cannot be over $1,000 in a 6 mo period.

You will be banned from all Top Notch sites, but you possibly can still do IDeal sites from another sub company.

If you find another offer you like, I would write their Contact Us page FIRST before starting to explain you were put on hold on Top Notch sites and explain the situation.

Tell them their site looks similar and you wanted to check with them first to make sure you were able to do their sites and complete offers. Then, keep their response for your records.

Hobbies on a Budget said...

I am in the same situation. I am trying to get my 2nd $500 card but both offers had a tshirt attached. I had NO clue that the tshirts had monetary value attached. I'm guessing I'll get a DQ letter soon? They did state that my account is on hold. I guess this is what you call a learning experience. I'm trying to put it in perspective. Thanks for all your help Carrie. I'll let you know if I hear anything back. Thanks!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

On hold is the same thing as DQd. Unless you can prove to them you didn't break their terms, your status will stay as On Hold/Disqualified.

Since there probably isn't much you can do to prove a shirt isn't worth something ( even if not much ), it will be hard to prove they didn't break their terms.

For myself, I usually will never do more than one offer with a company at a time.

I know every one loves IDeal because they are fast and cheaper, BUT, I have found the best luck with doing one IDeal, one Nuitech and one Netblue...and now Trainn. That way, you don't need to worry about accidentally duplicating or going over the value, etc, and I always tended to earn more that way.

People shy away from the other companies, but if you do an IDeal to start, take those earnings and invest in a Netblue, Nuitech, Trainn etc, it slowly keeps growing and earning you more and more. By the time you are through all of those companies, your 6 months is over and you can start with IDeal again.

Enock said...

Hello,
Your site is great -very informative, I have a few of questions if you can help. I registered on 2 I-Deal sites (at least I think they are I-Deal sites - ConsumerRewards.us.com e-ResearchCouncil.com -are they? lol) before finding your site with my personal email, and I have not completed any offers. Can I cancel my registration and reenter with a different e-mail or will my IP address not allow that? Also why do you recommend not using a debit card, is it not allowed?

Mark Evans said...

so with all of these companies, you can only do one offer per year right? I only see 4 companies, nuitech, ideal... etc. does that mean that we can only do 4 offers per year, one from each company? thanks carrie!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Mark,

Each has their own terms/conditions.

With Nuitech, last time I checked there was no limit. So, you could do as many as you wanted ( just verify they haven't updated their terms ). You can only do one per SITE. But, Nuitech has many, many sites. Just make sure it is a different url for each one you do.

For IDeal, it has always been a limit of $1,000 per 6 months. So, most of the sites I do with them are for $500. So, technically, you could do 4 of their sites a year. Just need to make sure you don't duplicate offers w/them for parent companies.

For Netblue, I haven't really seen a limit for them either.

Emily (Laundry and Lullabies) said...

Carrie, Nuitech has changed their terms. You can only receive one gift per year with them now. Boo. :(

Anonymous said...

Do you have a link to any Trainn offers?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

I can get you links to tons of TRAINN offers.

Would you like a whole list, or just a particular one?

Email me at moneysavingmethods at yahoo dot com and I can email them to you.

I will try and get a post up soon, too and add the list to this page.

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Emily,

I think it is actually a BETTER deal, unless I am reading it wrong.

Where are you seeing it?

Everywhere I see it in their terms, it is per the site url...which means you can do that particular URL AGAIN the next year.

Before, you could only do that site once FOREVER!

Am I reading it wrong? Let me know the exact wording you see in your terms.

But, the terms of the one I am doing is actually an improvement from years past.

Let me know.
